A row of doors in a corridor, one open

Practice by Numbers quoted you a plan, and the add-ons for Voice and metered insurance verification took it past what you expected. Or you have it and use the analytics tab and nothing else. Here is what else is out there, sorted by which part of PbN you actually want.

What Practice by Numbers is

On 13 October 2026 PbN’s site lists Business Analytics, Patient Relationship Management (reminders, campaigns, reviews, two-way texting), PbN Voice, PbN Payments, Smart Forms and an AI Receptionist, with 25 practice systems and “Trusted by 5,000+ Dental Providers.” Plans are Analyze, Core, Flow, Scale and Thrive, “Start as low as $249/mo,” with per-plan prices not shown and Voice as an add-on on most plans.

If analytics is the part you use

Calibic. Read-only on Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft. A ranked daily list in dollars (Focus today), Daily Huddle, Smart recall, Protect (a private audit trail of deleted payments and adjustments), Ask with sources, and Recovered, counted only when the PMS shows the treatment booked, completed and paid. Local ranking and Competitor Insights too. All LIVE. Drafted review replies are BETA. $149 per location per month, or $119 billed annually. No texting, no campaigns, no phones, no forms, no payments, no SOC 2 report. Built for HIPAA, with a Business Associate Agreement sent with every sign up. Pick it if your communications are handled elsewhere and you want fewer, ranked alerts at a published price. Skip it if your PMS is not one of the three.

Dental Intelligence. Analytics and reporting plus engagement, payments, scheduling, insurance and an AI receptionist. More than 10,000 practices by its count, SOC 2 Type 2, and Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend and Denticon supported. No published price. Pick it if you want a large, established suite and a SOC 2 report matters. See Calibic vs Dental Intelligence.

Jarvis Analytics. Group-focused analytics with a Henry Schein One logo: fifty-plus KPIs, Tx Miner, Morning Huddle, eleven practice systems, marketing and payroll data sources. No published price. Pick it for multi-location roll-ups.

Your PMS’s reports. Open Dental’s Treatment Finder, Recall List and Production and Income report come with support, listed at $199 per location per month for the first year and $149 after. Pick this if someone runs them every week and reads them. See Dentrix reports every office manager should run.

If phones and texting are the part you use

Weave. Phones with Call Pop, texting, reminders, forms, payments, reviews and an AI receptionist, “starting from $199 per month,” with Practice Analytics marked “(dental only).” Pick it if the phone system is the point.

Adit. AI front desk, VoIP, texting, forms, online scheduling, analytics, payments and claims. No published subscription price. Pick it if you want one vendor and an AI receptionist.

Your PMS’s own texting. Open Dental’s eServices send text reminders at $0.04 per outgoing message plus a number fee, per its fee page. Cheap, basic, and already there.

What to ask on the next demo

  • Does the product write to my practice software, or only read it? Calibic only reads. Suites that book and post payments must write.
  • When you say “revenue found,” is that scheduled, completed or paid? Calibic’s Recovered figure means paid.
  • What is the contract term, and what are the metered items?

As of 13 October 2026. Calibic is not affiliated with any vendor named here.
